Back-to-School Immunizations

Penguin with syringeThe Galveston County Health District will vaccinate eligible kids and adults during Kids Health Fest, which runs from Aug. 1-29.

The event takes place at GCHD’s Texas City immunization clinic in the Mid-County Annex at 9850-B Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Suite B104. The clinic will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Tuesdays, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Children’s state-supplied vaccinations cost $20 for the first vaccine and $10 for additional vaccinates. Cash prices are available for self-pay. The clinic accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicaid. Please bring your insurance cards. Payment can be made via cash, check, debit and credit cards.

Parents are asked to bring their child’s immunization record with them. Some children may already be in the state’s electronic immunization registry, known as ImmTrac. For those children, parents just need to provide the child’s name and date of birth to verify needed immunizations. If a parent does not have a paper record they will be given the opportunity to enroll their child in ImmTrac, which makes their immunization records available in the future.

During Kids Health Fest, the GCHD’s Dickinson Immunization clinic will be closed.
